ג’וליקם יוצאת בגרסה חדשה עם תמיכה בקול המאפשרת
צפייה והאזנה למצלמה הביתית בשיחת וידאו

בימים אלו ג’וליקם יוצאת בגרסה חדשה ומשופרת המאפשרת צפייה קלה במצלמות הביתיות דרך חיוג בשיחת וידאו. הגרסה החדשה פותרת מספר בעיות שהעלתם:

• תמיכה בקול – מעכשיו תוכלו לשמוע כל מה שקורה בחדר. בנוסף תוכלו גם לדבר עם מי שנמצא מול המחשב
• מצב חשאי – בהפעלת מצב חשאי (discrete mode) לא יופיעו הודעות על מסך המחשב בזמן שיחה
• שיפורים ותיקונים – חיבור מהיר יותר למצלמה וכן תיקון מספר בעיות ביציבות המערכת

אם זו הפעם הראשונה שאתם מתקינים את ג’וליקם, עליכם להרשם באתר שלנו עם כתובת מייל ומספר טלפון ממנו תרצו להתקשר למצלמה. לאחר רישום באתר ישלח אליכם קוד התקנה.

משדרגים גרסה ישנה?

אם אתם מבצעים שדרוג מגרסה קודמת, יש להפעיל את תוכנת ההתקנה וללחוץ Next עד סיום ההתקנה.
אין צורך ברישום מחדש באתר.

Most existing, we have grown:

• Support for calling from abroad (beta) – We now have a solution for those of you who want to check-up on things while you travel. Contact us for more details.
• DVR monitoring (beta) – We figure that if you have a DVR, you should also make sure it is working! Therefore we are now offering DVR monitoring as an additional service

Some lessons learned:

• System downtime – Last month we got some media coverage including Avri Gilad’s morning show, and an item on Channel 10 news. As a result our systems were pushed to their limits and some components malfunctioned. Since then we have upgraded our servers and resolved some bottlenecks. Things are more stable now.

During the past few weeks we started rolling out our new service for Security Camera and DVR owners – JolicamPro. The idea is very very simple (even more simple than Jolicam): We provide you with access to your cameras from your 3G phone.

All you need to get started is a DVR and a 3G phone. Registration is done by email sales@joliper.com or by phone at 03-6806666, and there is nothing to install at all. I’m still working on the automation of this process. We already support the most popular local DVR models including MagicRadar, GeoVision, Win4Net, and AvTech, and we are working hard to get other models up as well. If your DVR is not listed we will be happy to hear from you.

Once registered, usage is very simple and straightforward: video call our system, enter your pin, and watch whatever it is you have your cameras pointed at. That’s all.

Now I know that some of you might be thinking “this isn’t really new. I can connect to my DVR from my laptop, and from my smart phone via the Internet”. All true. But is mobile internet really that easy? and what about the times when you are out of the office and don’t have Internet for your laptop? Simplicity and mobility, in my opinion, are the two advantages that make this service really useful.

It has been a very exiting month for us. We released our first open-to-the-public version of Jolicam this month. The feedback has been great and it included some really good ideas, feature requests, and inevitably, some bug reports. I’m pleased to say we were able to track-down and bust all of the (reported) bugs while they were still small. We have updated the version available for download from our website.

The new version (v1.0.2.2303) includes the following fixes:

• A fix for Windows Vista users who were not able to connect to the server.
• A fix for an issue resulting in the Camera Busy error screen.
• A fix for 64 bit systems.

During the next month we will be launching JolicamPRO designed specifically for those of you with security cameras or DVR systems. We also hope to roll out our first version of a the web interface providing some account management features.

Finally, I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to report issues, submit ideas, and help out testing the bug fixes on their systems.
